ENTERTAINMENT IN DETROIT


Part of Downtown has seen a return to the good times. The Fox Theatre has recently being restored and the Gem Theatre is also a must see. The State Theatre has also being given a new lease of life. There is the Detroit Opera House that has fine acoustics. The Music Hall centre for the performing Arts is also a very popular venue for dance, drama and jazz. Nearby is the Comerica Park, which hosts the Detroit Tigers baseball games, and the area becomes very crowded during games.

Greektown is very popular nightspot at weekends. Lots of jazz and rock bars in the area, Tiffany's & Terry's Comedy and Jazz Cafe are a real favourite. Bomacs Lounge is also popular.
Also the Union Street Saloon is a popular spot to dine and also to have a few drinks. Across the street is the famous Majestic Theatre, where the famous magician Houdini made his last performance.
The Fisher Theatre in the New Centre Area is worth a visit to witness the spectacular golden lobby and the ornate theatre.
